The problem it solves
A portfolio spans varied ground. Some sites sit near active faults; others are in quiet regions. When an earthquake strikes, you need to know immediately which sites felt it and how strongly, route that to the team that owns each location, and later document the event for insurers and leadership. Doing this by hand across dozens of sites is slow and easy to get wrong. Tremor turns it into a standing, automatic workflow.
What Tremor Business does
Upload a spreadsheet of every site, with a name, latitude, longitude, and optionally each building's value and construction type, and Tremor monitors them all around the clock. It ranks your sites by exposure using bundled fault, seismic-zone, and plate-boundary geology, so you can see at a glance which locations carry the most background hazard, independent of recent activity. When an earthquake matches, Tremor records the impact per site, the modelled shaking intensity at that location, and routes alerts to your channels, including PagerDuty for on-call teams.
Every qualifying event is written to an impact history: a durable log of which sites were shaken by which earthquakes and how hard, kept beyond the live feed window so it serves as a system of record. Where you have supplied building values, Tremor attaches a screening-level loss range to each impact to help you triage which sites to inspect first.
About exposure tiers and loss ranges
Exposure tiers are a geometry-based summary, how close a site is to mapped faults, seismic zones, and plate boundaries, meant to sort a portfolio rather than to certify any single building. The loss figures are screening-level estimates from a published damage-ratio model, the HAZUS methodology, always shown as a range rather than a point number. They are a triage aid. Tremor complements a licensed engineer's seismic assessment or probable-maximum-loss study; it does not replace one, and its ranges are not a substitute for that analysis.
